There is a modern revolution in concepts about baseline nutritional supplementation. While the nation has acknowledged the benefits of daily vitamin supplementation, it is recognized that there are many other vital nutrients that are essential to support health and well-being or assist the body in its important functions of recuperation. The Standard American Diet (SAD) is often inadequate, as our nation is “on the go”; and subject to an increasing amount of processed or nutrient depleted food. Our modern environment has depleted soil of mineral content and some fresh produce may not be as nutrient dense as many people believe. New concepts are “back to basics” where everyone knows that Mother Nature presented a vast array of vital nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients (plant substances) and antioxidants in the diet. Good nutrition is not a function of separating specific nutrients and administering them in isolated forms, but it is the ability of many vital nutrients to act together in an additive manner.
Berries or greens products have become among the most popular dietary supplements in modern times. In the early 1990’s, I formulated “greens products” that were among the most successful nutritional brands which are still sold today, but they are superseded by my new formulations. I recognized that the “nutritional powerhouse of greens” had to be amplified by the versatile, health-giving benefits of selected fruits and berries. Not only did my research guide me to mix berries and greens, it directed me to dozens of other natural nutrients that can give support to many body functions by acting as: adaptogens, body cleansers, probiotics, enzymes…to name a few benefits. These plant substances were not complete without the added benefits of selected nutraceuticals of marine origin.
